Quality matters
IT
is no surprise that Simi Valley
Hospital devotes substantial time
and resources to ensure that patients
receive the safest and highest-quality
medical care that meets or exceeds
the requirements of the many
regulatory agencies that oversee the
health care industry.
But the mission of the hospital
compels leadership and sta to go
beyond quality care to create an
environment in which patients and
visitors feel comfortable, valued,
and treated with dignity and
respect.
“
Our mission statement says that
we will demonstrate God’s love by
providing exceptional service and
quality care to meet the physical,
mental and spiritual needs of our
community,” said Ron Hyrchuk,
director of Spiritual Care Services
at Simi Valley Hospital. “To really,
truly meet our community’s needs,
we have to do more than just
provide great medical care. We have
to provide great medical care with
great compassion and personal
attention.”
Hyrchuk has spearheaded e orts
at Simi Valley Hospital to increase
awareness among sta about the
lasting impression their attitude and
approach to care makes on patients
and visitors. As a result of that work,
every hospital department prepares
a compassionate care commitment
statement that applies speci cally
to the services the department
provides.
In addition, every employee and
volunteer completes, signs and
submits to his or her supervisor an
