Most prescription drugs and over-the-
counter medications can now be dropped
o 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the

Jonathan Nasseri, MD, has been named
the local recipient of the second annual
Physician of the Year Mission Award,
presented by Simi Valley Hospital’s parent
corporation, Adventist Health. Dr. Nasseri
received the award during Adventist
Health’s Physician Leadership Symposium
in Sacramento in the fall of 2011.
The award was presented to

Adventist Health physicians who
embody the organization’s mission and
focus on whole-person care. Recipients
possess characteristics consistent with
Adventist Health’s spiritual mission,
such as manifesting a life of integrity,
displaying empathy for patients and
staff, being open-minded about matters
of faith, being recognized by others as
a caring practitioner, and integrating
spiritual experts into the care plan
when appropriate.

include:

Prescription medications, including pills,
liquids and creams

Over-the-counter pills, liquids and creams

Pet medication

Nebulizer solutions.
There are, however, a few items the
police station drop-o cannot accept,
including:

Intravenous solutions
w
IV bags
w
Injectibles
w
Syringes
w
Items used for diabetic testing
w
Oxygen tanks
w
Nebulizer machines
w
Inhalers
w
Thermometers.
To prepare pills for drop-o , empty
the contents of pill bottles into a Ziploc-
style bag. Do not bring the pill bottles
themselves for drop-o ; they should be
recycled at home after removing any
personal information on the labels. Leave
liquids, gels and creams in their original
containers and place them in a Ziploc-
style bag.
Please remember that it is a health
hazard to ush medication down the
toilet. Disposal through the Simi Valley
police drop-o program is a safe and easy
alternative to that dangerous practice.
