ranked as the safest hospital in
Ventura County by a ratings survey
published in the March 2014 issue of
Consumer Reports,
the largest, most
trusted independent product testing
organization in the world.
e hospital had the highest
safety score among six Ventura
County hospitals listed in the online
version of
Consumer Reports
. e
magazine compiled its safety scores
based on ve criteria: avoiding
infections, avoiding readmissions,
communicating about medications
and discharge, appropriate use of chest
and abdominal scanning, and avoiding
mortality (both medical and surgical).
e data used to compile the
hospital safety score came from the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services and is based on information
about patients age 65 and older.
